Out in the Cold: Locked Out of My House

Well, it just couldn't have happened at a more inopportune time. I was hurrying to get homeward bound, but as I reached for doorknob, it felt cold and lifeless. My heart {sankdropped like a lead weight. I was deprived of entry in the middle of a bitterly cold night!

There I stood on my front steps, shivering in the chill. I couldn't even see my breath from how quickly it disappeared into the glacial winds. My phone was at a low battery charge, and there wasn't a single person in sight.

It started as a easy errand. I just needed to grab a few things from the shop. Now, here I am, stuck inside my car like some kind of metal captive. I can see my apartment/house just a couple of steps away. All I have to do is reach the door/entrance. But alas, my ignition key are securely nestled inside the car, mocking me with their inaccessibility. What was I thinking? I should have just kept them on me.

This is a disaster. A complete and utter catastrophe. I can't even gain entry the car to grab my communication tool. What if someone needs to contact to me? I feel like I'm in a awful movie, except this isn't scripted and there's no charming stranger coming to my rescue. I guess it's time to make a phone call for help. Maybe someone will have a backup key. Fingers crossed!

It occurred again! Here I sit, stranded outside my own dwelling with absolutely no way to get in. Seriously, I'm starting to think I have a superpower: the uncanny ability to lock myself out of my own home. It's like a habit.
